Last week my ATI Digital Cable Tuner stop receiving almost all of my Expanded Basic channels from Charter. I was told by the cable tech that Charter recently changed how they broadcast channels and that this change was probably the cause. Crap.

After three truck rolls, and a call from the very helpful Supervisor Eugene, the single stream card CableCARD was replaced with a multi-stream card. The cable tech made a quick call to activate the CableCARD and I reran the set up again before he left.
If you get a subscription error the first time you view a channel give the CableCARD a few minutes to adjust.

All of the channels started working again in a few minutes and I was good to go.

In addition I can now get a few of the channels (HD Ultra View) I could not get before such as HDNET and ESPNHD. Charter, Eugene and tech 2032 kick a$$!

If you have a similar issue or are missing channels you might want to ask for a Supervisor and get a multi-stream CableCARD. They are typically green in color.

Tim, i would bet this is the card we will need in the upcoming CETON card setup,
i am building a HTPC with ITX ZOTAC-G-E MB and with 1- pci-e 16x for ceton card, lain li PC-Q07 case,
E7500 cpu,
4gb PC6400 OCZ ram,
one vary large heatsink
external 150 power supply designed for ITX
come on Ceton dont forget W-7 Drivers
Lets hope the Ceton card is 1X like the pictures have shown.

Hi, I’ll start building my HTPC in the following week. I will use WMC to watch TV or movies stored at my WHS.
We currently have a cable TV for a main TV, but I’m also testing IPTV on my computer. Cable TV will stay as our main TV source for at least half a year which is why I need a TV tuner card.
Can someone please recommend me a TV tuner card? I’m from Europe and as far as I know I should have a MPEG-4 card (not a MPEG-2 only) and PAL (not SECAM).
I’m sorry I’m not as good in TV systems as I’m with computers

Wondering if you have any ideas on the following problem: Per a previous article of yours I purchased an ATI TV Wonder DCT – USB model. I have Windows 7. I use Verizon FIOS just outside of Philadelphia. The Verizon guy was here today and completed the installation by using a Multi-Stream cable card. My subscription to Verizon FIOS includes all of the HD Channels. The problem is that on my computer I only see the basic Verizon channels (1 through 49) through the Windows Media Center guide. I’m unable to access any HD channels. Any ideas?
Do the HD channels appear on the guide and you cannot get them or do they just not appear at all?
